Reagan Cranwell - STARSkate Coach
My name is Reagan Cranwell. I grew up in Grande Cache, and was a member of the Akasaka Figure Skating Club since the age of six. I have benefitted from the styles and strengths of all of my coaches. I was personally motivated to compete and fondly remember all the competitions I have attended through the years of my skating from when I was a beginning skater to junior and eventually senior.
I have a strong foundation in dance, creative choreography, and program creation. I am looking forward to applying this background in individual programs and events such as carnivals.
I am a certified regional coach. I orient my coaching style around the personal development of the skater as a whole. I want to encourage positive self-esteem and strong coping skills to facilitate the mental health and overall wellness of each skater. I hope to achieve this by incorporating positive coping techniques when faced with new and potentially intimidating challenges for the skaters I coach. Building strong working alliances not only with the skater, but also their family, is essential to my philosophy of coaching.
Outside of skating, I have a developing background in multiple areas of post-secondary education in human biology, psychology (forensic, social, child), and professional ethics. In the warmer seasons, I like spending my free time in nature, caring for animals, working on cars, and learning to drive motorcycles.

Brooke Ferraby- CanSkate & Junior STARSkate Coach
Figure skating has been a defining part of my life since I first discovered my love for the sport at 2.5 years old. Now in Grade 12, I’m working on my Star 10 and Gold dances, Star 10 skills, and Star 4 freeskate as a senior skater. I spent seven years volunteering as a CanSkate Program Assistant before transitioning into coaching for CanSkate during my Grade 11 year.
This past summer, I completed my Regional Coaching courses, and now I have the exciting opportunity to coach Junior level skaters. Seeing the progress of the young skaters I coach is incredibly rewarding. It’s a passion of mine to not only help them develop their skating skills but also to guide them as they grow both on and off the ice. I'm eager to continue this journey, supporting my skaters as they work toward their goals and enhancing my coaching along the way.
